About
Tyler began tinkering with web design in seventh grade. He created, maintained, and played with platforms like vBullitin, phpBB, and EarthFire giving him platforms to break and supportive communities to help him fix them. Here began his archaic introduction to HTML and the confusion of CSS, PHP was more useful than JavaScript at the time. ActionScript was a dream.
With his interest and talent in art, there is always an ebb and a flow, Tyler’s formal studies focused on art and design. He developed his skills at Moeller High School in Ohio studying photography, drawing, and painting, and, ultimately, attending and graduating from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design where he received a BFA in Illustration.
Growing with the digital and internet age, Tyler is never too far from testing out new frameworks or developing entire web projects: one Photoshop tutorial website started him off with HTML, a few video game group websites led him to the wasteland that would become of Macromedia Flash, and, ultimately, the phpBB forum platform. His attention to detail and appreciation for quality leads to continual research and education to stay on top of best practices, to develop the wisdom to evaluate solutions efficiently and determine the best path when there is none defined.
As the Adobe Suite, HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript developed, so has Tyler, keeping up with their changes and drama like a soap opera or telenovela.
Tyler has over ten years of web, consulting, and design experience as a freelancer. View his recent work here.
